I did not write this, but it was too good not to share. I follow another blogger called Servant Hearted Sisterhood. She always has great stuff, but today's was especially precious to my heart! So...for the girl who has experienced spiritual attack, relational confusion, and personal defeat as you press toward the thing that you know God has asked you to "go and make disciples" ... these great words are for you!
“Walking in your God-given calling...is a bold step of faith that glorifies God and furthers His Kingdom. However, it’s no secret that stepping into your purpose often invites spiritual opposition. The enemy is threatened by your obedience and will attempt to discourage, distract, or derail you. But take heart: God has equipped you to stand firm against every fiery dart the enemy throws your way.
In Ephesians 6:11, we are reminded to put on the full armor of God to withstand the enemy’s schemes. Think of David, a young shepherd boy chosen by God to become king. When David stepped into his calling by confronting Goliath, he faced mockery, doubt, and intimidation—not only from the enemy but also from those closest to him. Yet David stood firm, armed not with physical armor but with faith in God’s power (1 Samuel 17). His victory was a reminder that the battles we face in our calling are not fought by our strength but by God’s.

Attacks of the enemy
The enemy’s attacks are often aimed at your weaknesses, hoping to create fear and doubt. But God’s Word assures us in 2 Corinthians 12:9 KJV, “My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.” When you feel weak, God’s grace becomes your strength. The enemy wants you to believe that you are alone in this fight, but the truth is, you are never alone. God has already declared victory over every battle you will face.
Remember Isaiah 54:17 KJV, “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper.” Spiritual attacks cannot stop God’s plans for you. Stay rooted in His Word, resist the devil’s schemes, and trust in the One who fights for you. The attacks are a sign you’re walking in the right direction—your obedience is advancing God’s Kingdom.
Stepping into our calling
God’s grace is our strength in moments of doubt, weariness, or fear.
Nehemiah, who was called to rebuild the wall of Jerusalem. As he obeyed God’s calling, he faced constant opposition—mockery, threats, and attempts to distract him. Yet, Nehemiah responded, “I am doing a great work, so that I cannot come down” (Nehemiah 6:3 KJV). He remained focused, prayed for strength, and pressed forward despite the attacks. Like Nehemiah, we must resist the temptation to give in to fear or distraction, knowing that the God who called us will also sustain us.
Another example is Jesus Himself, who faced the ultimate spiritual attacks as He carried out His mission to save humanity. The enemy tempted Him in the wilderness (Matthew 4), mocked Him through others, and ultimately sought to destroy Him on the cross. Yet, Jesus remained steadfast, leaning on the Word of God and fulfilling His calling. Because of His victory, we now fight from a position of victory, not defeat.
Spiritual attacks
When spiritual attacks arise, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed and question your path. But take heart—every attack is a reminder of the value and power of your calling. You are walking in obedience to God, and He has promised to never leave nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:8).
The enemy may throw his darts, but they cannot penetrate a heart guarded by God’s truth and grace. Hold on to His promises, knowing that He is faithful to complete the good work He began in you (Philippians 1:6). Stay rooted in His Word, keep praying, and trust that every trial is refining you for an even greater purpose.
God is with you in every step, fighting your battles and strengthening you for the journey ahead.
Let's dig a bit deeper...
Elijah felt attacked and overwhelmed after his victory on Mount Carmel. He ran into the wilderness, feeling alone and afraid, but God met him with provision and encouragement (1 Kings 19). When you’re under attack, God is near, offering His strength and comfort.
Job endured relentless attacks from the enemy, yet he refused to curse God. Job’s faithfulness reminds us that perseverance in trials leads to restoration and deeper intimacy with God (Job 42:10–12).
Paul faced countless trials—beatings, imprisonment, and shipwrecks—yet he pressed on, declaring, “I can do all things through Christ which strengtheneth me”(Philippians 4:13). Like Paul, rely on Christ’s strength in your weakness.
Think on this:
Are you letting spiritual attacks drive you to God or away from Him? The enemy’s goal is to create doubt and fear, but God calls us to draw near to Him, trusting in His strength to see us through every battle. Are you actively using the tools God has given you to combat spiritual attacks? The armor of God isn’t just for protection; it’s a powerful offense against the enemy’s schemes.
Spiritual attacks are not a sign of failure but a confirmation that you’re advancing God’s Kingdom. The enemy targets what threatens him most—your obedience and faithfulness to God’s call.”
