You know...I had lots of thoughts about a big, bold blog I wanted to put out, but as I attempt to say all that I wanted to these are the only words I can whisper with confidence...

"He made me.

He loves me.

He knows all my story

I shall look upon his face by, and by

Do not tell me

That wrapped in his glory

He hears not my voice when I cry"

This past week, I have had to lay down some things that are very important to me. Maybe it's my pride...or maybe it's just me feeling so sad...but I am having a hard time admitting that I had to step away from school for a time. BUT, I do hear the Lord reminding me that perseverance for my name's sake is not honoring Him.

It's true that it is not bad to do what I’m supposed to do. It is not inappropriate to step up to the plate and be a display of God's blessings, and it’s definitely not wrong to do greater things for the praise and glory of the Lord.

BUT, if none of those things at root really belong to the Lord...if they are all in the name of running myself ragged to prove something...they are disobedient, selfish ploys.

If I truly treasure in my heart what the Lord did for me on the cross -- and in the past nine years of my life -- then I must be compelled to pluck out the eye and cut off the hand that offends him (Matt 5:29)!!

But do you want to know what is the sweetest part of all this?!

He has given me the freedom to come to Him and tell Him that I’m struggling to lay these things down. The thing I understand now that I did not nine years ago is that sanctification is a process and God begins it by pouring out a desire on my heart. And since it is true that He began a good work and will complete it, I don't have to do anything but respond to His love by doing the next thing knowing that since I am "wrapped in His glory" He hears me and will work out everything according to His good and perfect plan.

“The LORD will fulfill his purpose for me.

The Lord WILL fulfill his purpose for me.

The Lord will FULFILL his purpose for me.

The Lord will fulfill HIS purpose for me.

The Lord will fulfill his PURPOSE for me.

The Lord will fulfill his purpose FOR ME.

Lord, your faithful love endures forever; do not abandon the work of your hands.” Ps 138:8
