GIRLS, WE DESERVE FANCY FOOD! Even if you are working from home...wearing your sweats and no bra...you deserve food fit for a queen!
You may have thought I have forgotten my love of health and wellness since I haven't posted much about it lately. The truth is, though, that I have been over in my own corner trying to decide what way of life is best for me in this new season that the Lord has allowed.
While I would love to be able to lose the weight I have gained in early menopause, that cannot be my goal right now. I just want to feel better and minimize inflammation and nerve pain from an undiagnosed condition that is steadily increasing in my body. Honestly, I have tried several things all in the name of weight loss that have only made me feel worse. Thus, I have gone back to my roots: fish, nuts, whole grains, and raw fruits and veggies.
It is true...The thought of becoming dairy free, gluten free, caffeine free, and processed or added sugar free is a daunting task, BUT feeling bad almost 100% of the time is worse. In other words...
PICK YOUR HARD!
Pick your hard means that you stop actively digging your own grave and choose to do hard things that help your body heal. You stop acting as though you are not able. God has given you everything necessary to overcome through Jesus Christ (2 Peter 1). Why then would we believe that does not include the ability to restrain and retrain ourselves?!
Sweet sisters, this is a big task, but just start with today. Start with this food idea below. Check out the recipe that fealt so fancy to my simple self! But even more...take a minute to look at the health benefits of a few of these veggies and consider God's attention to detail.
He cares about you!
Shrimp and Veggie Wrap with Sunbutter Vinaigrette
WRAP INGREDIENTS:
Collard green leaf (or lettuce leaf of your choice)
Cucumber, sliced
Avocado, sliced
Cabbage and carrots, thin sliced
Pickled onion
Sauteed shrimp

2 Tbsp Sunbutter (or Tahini)
2-3 Tbsp soy sauce
2 Tbsp maple syrup
2 Tbsp apple cider vinegar
1 tsp Dijon mustard
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
1/4 tsp garlic powder
1/4 tsp pepper
Put your wrap together and drizzle or dip with the vinaigrette. Save the rest for a salad dressing or roasted brussel sprouts marinade. You will not regret this fancy little feast!
