Recently, a dear friend -- who is going through something so unfair and hard -- shared that she woke up knowing the Lord had just said to her…”I go before you.”

It was so beautiful. He didn't give her answers…just comfort and promise!

This stuck with me! He has to be enough for us to live in the quiet confidence that "whether He gives or takes away, my song will be the same: Christ is enough for me!"

Sometimes, people live an entire lifetime without experiencing much trauma or tragedy.

What if, though, God has portioned for you a very hard road full of suffering?

This is not to say that you are stronger than another or that they are more blessed than you.

It simply means that God has chosen different things for His purpose….

Is that ok with you?

Can you praise the God who gives and takes away, the God who allows storms…provides droughts, fires, wildernesses, deserts, and sometimes radio silence?

Is God’s plan “good enough” for you? Is Christ enough for you?.

.

As you answer these questions…don’t just give a passionate 'YES' like young Peter.

Stop and think of God…think of how it is that Job, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Joseph, Isaac, Jacob, David, Sarah, Hagar, John the Baptist, older Peter, Paul, Stephen, Mary Magdeline, Mary the mother of Jesus…think how they made it through what they were called to do….by trusting that God alone is enough!

Consider the fact that God has called you to know His love and stand as a witness to it…Where He has called you may not look or feel good…But He has said that He will sustain you and provide for you according to His glory and purpose.

Now sit in worship, asking the Holy Spirit to reveal to you how you truly feel and think. Ask Him to guide your heart towards the heart of the Father…Praise Him for the suffering that empowers you for His purpose. Ask Him to open your eyes and heart to the full context and meaning of passages like these listed below.

“But he said to me, 'My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.” 2 Corinthians 12:9

“God will supply all your needs according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus.” Phil 4:19

“Though the fig tree does not bud and there is no fruit on the vines, though the olive crop fails and the fields produce no food, though the flocks disappear from the pen and there are no herds in the stalls, yet I will celebrate in the Lord; I will rejoice in the God of my salvation! The Lord my Lord is my strength; he makes my feet like those of a deer and enables me to walk on mountain heights! For the choir director: on stringed instruments.” ‭‭Habakkuk‬ ‭3‬:‭17‬-‭19‬ ‭

“My goal is to know him and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of his sufferings, being conformed to his death, assuming that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead.”‭‭Philippians‬ ‭3‬:‭10‬-‭11‬
